How to use a PODD workshop – Novita

This is a basic workshop teaching you how to use a PODD communication book as a tool to communicate with kids who have complex communication needs. Pragmatic Organisation Dynamic Display (PODD) is a means of selecting and organising symbols so that people with complex communication needs can connect with family members, friends and people they meet in everyday life. PODD is an example of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC)

You will learn:

  • How a PODD works
  • How to use a PODD in everyday situations
  • Fun, practical ways to use a PODD as a tool for learning and developing communication
  • To be more confident in using a PODD to communicate

This workshop provides a fun, friendly environment to practise your PODD skills with help from a speech pathologist at hand.

Auslan in Action - Signing in Early Childhood Settings – SERU

Auslan and Key Word Signing for use in early childhood settings through a book based approach.  We’ll look at useful apps and resources, too.  This will be presented by Teachers of the Deaf who work in the Early Intervention Deaf/Hard of Hearing service.
